The Holy Spirit Series III
Our Teacher- The Revealer of Truth

1 Corinthians 2--9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. 10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. 11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. 13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
There is a cry in the realm of the Spirit. It is a cry for truth, spiritual maturity, and depth. The world, as well as the church, is in great need of the children of God to be raised up in truth, spiritual maturity, and depth. The whole earth is in need of supernatural wisdom that can not be found in conventional sources, but is available only out of the depths of the Holy Spirit. There are problems facing society, including Christians, that the Bible does not address. This does not mean that there is not an answer for them. It just means that we must here the voice of the Spirit to get the answer. We must not be satisfied with simply making heaven our home, but allowing the Spirit of heaven to manifest in the earth through us.
This type of deep wisdom is birthed and received from becoming one with Christ, through the intimacy of Holy Spirit communion. As we see in the above verses, the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. Not only spiritual things, but all things! The Spirit of God is looking for those who will mature enough to be entrusted with truths which eye has not seen, ear has not heard, nor has even entered into the heart of man--truths that will revolutionize and bring great release in the realm of the Spirit, and the natural realm. The following verses completely support this...
John 14:25-- "These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you. 26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you."
John 16:13-- " Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. 14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. 15 All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you."
God wants to teach us all things! Spiritual truths and natural truths...keys to the kingdom of God, and keys to resolving everyday problems. The Holy Spirit associates with deep things. In the beginning, the Spirit hovered over the face of the deep, and God said "Let there be light", and light came. "Light" speaks of illumination, revelation, and wisdom. Jesus is the Light, He hovered over the face of our deep, and He sent Holy Spirit to give us illumination, and make us the light of the world. There is such a need for Christians to mature in the deep things of God! So many believers are only thinking about the moment, and have a profound lack of deep spiritual wisdom that would draw the world. Solomon's wisdom, even though he did not use it in full obedience, brought the known world to his doorstep looking for the answers to difficult questions. Sadly, many times the last place the world will look to for solutions to life's most difficult problems is the church. Why? Few Christians elicit the profound, yet practical wisdom of Solomon, Daniel, or Jesus.
Throughout the Bible, one thing that consistently sets the obedient people of God apart from those around them is wisdom. We see this with Jacob, Joseph, Moses, David, Daniel, Jesus, Paul, and many others. Not common wisdom, nor just being smart, but wisdom that is only produced by the anointing of the Spirit. It was said of the Hebrew boys taken captive by Babylon that they were found to be ten times better than anyone else in the kingdom.
Daniel 1:19- And the king communed with them; and among them all was found none like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah: therefore stood they before the king.20 And in all matters of wisdom and understanding, that the king enquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers that were in all his realm.
This can, and should become the case with those walking by the Spirit. Unfortunately, as a whole, the opposite has been the case in the modern church. A lack of maturity, stability, and consistency has been the order of the day. Scripture is traditionally misinterpreted, taken totally out of context and misapplied, and others simply lack scriptural knowledge. Many are enamored by gifts and charisma, while placing a low priority on integrity and character. Others mistake weirdness or being overly emotional for super- spirituality. This only can continue while there is a severe lack of discernment, and maturity in the Church at large. The Church lacks discernment and maturity primarily because these have been absent in leaders. These have been lacking in leaders because many are more confident in their ability to use the latest new techniques, rather than drawing living water out of the wells of the Spirit. Fortunately, this is beginning to change.
When the Messiah was preparing the disciples for His upcoming departure, He told them He would not leave them orphans, but He would return to them in the Spirit of Truth. Jesus actually told His disciples that it was to their advantage for Him to go.
John 14:16- "And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever --17 "the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.18 "I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you."
John 16:7-- "Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you."
Through the indwelling Holy Spirit, we, the branches, have the ability to abide in Christ, the vine. He is The Truth, and the source of all truth. This abiding literally means to "not be separate". When the Truth, who is also the Comforter, and Helper, dwells in us, we should then begin to take on His character and nature-we should become a person of truth, a comforter, and a helper.
When Christ Jesus was in a physical body, He was limited to being in one place at a time, but when He came in the person of the Holy Spirit, He transcended this limitation. He could then be everywhere in every heart that would allow Him a place to dwell! When we make ourselves a tabernacle for the Holy Spirit to inhabit, we have made a place for the Comforter who can lead us into all truth. We must then begin to develop a relationship with Him so we can hear His voice, because faith comes by hearing, and hearing the word of God (Romans 10:17).
God is not stumped by any problem facing the church, or the whole earth for that matter. He is only looking for the sons of God to stop placing limits upon Him, and seek Him for the answers. Every situation is unique, and He has crafted an answer for them all, but we hear His voice instead of using the Bible as a misapplied, and misinterpreted law-book. The letter of the law kills, but the Spirit gives life (2 Cor. 3:6). The Bible is a history of people interacting and relating to the Creator. He spoke to them, and he will speak to you. If you don't believe this, why do you pray?
There are situations facing the church, and the world at large today, that will not be resolved by a Bible verse. While we do have biblical patterns and principals for most issues, you do not have scripture that addresses everything. You will not find a scripture verse telling you how to restore a transvestite that has just accepted Christ, and is married to a trans- sexual. There is no biblical guideline for dealing with cyber-sex, nuclear war, or a host of other modern anomalies, yet God does have an answer for them all. Answers that will produce life out of situations that could otherwise only produce death. Answers out of the Spirit that will bring healing, restoration, and peace, where a misapplied scripture by some well intentioned Christian would only produce death and pain.
We must simply seek Him, and determine not to move until He has given an answer. We will give an account for how we deal with these types of issues, so we must walk wisely, and not be moved by the opinions, expectations, and pressures of the religious crowd. John 15:5 says "I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. We know that He said this, yet we still try our good ideas. They are apart from Him, and nearly always amount to nothing, or worse. Why? We haven't heard! When we operate this way, we can try everything, and accomplish nothing, other than wasting a lot of time and resources. Carnal men have faith in their works, but spiritual men work out their faith.
Let us all determine to be men and women of the Spirit, and allow the Holy Spirit of God do great and mighty things in us, to us, by us, and through us, so that we may demonstrate to the world the wealth of wisdom available in our God. There is revelation truth that we have not tapped into that could set millions free from the bondages of sin, sickness, and oppression . There are inventions, and creations waiting to be revealed. There is billions of dollars waiting to be harvested, so they can be invested in the harvest of souls! How can this come to pass? The answers to all these may be found in the Holy Spirit, Our Teacher-The Revealer of Truth.
